Made in Hackney Wick
Vinyl cutting and audio mastering, by hand, from East London.
The story
Hi-Fi Robots started with a single idea: to make professional vinyl cutting accessible without studio booking fees or minimum order runs. The business is run by Jonas Lebeda, an audio engineer and DJ based in Hackney Wick with a background spanning live sound, mastering, and vinyl record culture. When the opportunity to acquire a cutting lathe arose, the setup was installed, and Hi-Fi Robots followed.
The machine
The lathe, an MC-02, is a precision-built cutting machine. It cuts directly to the acetate disc, one side at a time, in real time. There is no digital intermediate between your audio file and the groove in the disc. The stylus is a diamond cutter, heated and driven by the audio signal itself. Every disc is a unique physical object — cut once, for you.
What we do

Digital mastering — a fully processed master of your track, delivered as a 24-bit / 48kHz WAV. Calibrated to streaming loudness targets for Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and Bandcamp. Optional analogue processing, club export, 16-bit CDJ export, and metadata management are available as add-ons.
